ACGIH Continues Its Efforts to Support NIOSH

Dear Fellow OEHS Professionals,
ACGIH is continuing to support National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and other federal workforces. We urge all OEHS professionals to take action to restore NIOSH and safeguard the profession.
Below are ongoing ACGIH initiatives, and actions you can take to support this effort.
WHAT ACGIH IS DOING
- Signed on to the 2025 Friends of NIOSH letter – an allied industry letter on the good work of NIOSH and the impact it makes
- We have also signed onto a letter from Rep Landsman (Ohio) highlighting the importance and value of NIOSH to the administration.
- Partnering with other organizations on collaborative efforts on how to support the mission.
- To highlight all the good works that come out of NIOSH in all industries, ACGIH is launching a “Stories of Impact” social media campaign. Be sure to “Follow Us” in support of NIOSH.
- Offering the free education and job posting on our website
- We will continue to keep our subscribers and followers informed about the changing actions through email and social media.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Utilize this link to write your congressional representation provided by AIHA to reach out to your local and state representatives to voice your concerns and advocate for the protection of NIOSH’s funding and programs.
- Directly contact officials of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education Labor & Pensions (HELP) to advocate for NIOSH and worker protections before their meeting on 4/9
- Advocate and educate your network using the AIHA Talking Points
- Nominate someone to be highlighted in the “Stories of Impact” series that will be impacted should NIOSH and other Departments continue to be effected.
- Keep sharing stories on social media. Include hashtag #saveniosh to show support.
